en enfant de la nature,
et tiraille le ruban de mon tablier.
C'est ainsi qu'on attrape les moineaux
à la campagne! Et s'il me suit,
je lui dis d'un ton naïf: Fripon!
Alors je m'assieds dans l'herbe auprès de lui
et pour finir me mets à chanter.

Après avoir vu cela,
vous avouerez
que ce serait grand dommage
qu'avec un tel talent
je ne fasse pas de théâtre!
Si je joue une reine,
je marche d'un pas majestueux.
Saluant de tous côtés en inclinant la tête,

Se recito l'ingenua campagnola,

tutt'intorno saltello maliziosa
come fossi uno scoiattolo;
e se vedo un onesto giovanotto
sorridendo gli strizzo I' occhietto,
ma solo attraverso le dita,
come una figlia della natura,
e se lui sfila il nastro dei grembiule -
è così che gli sventati s'acchiappano in campagna.
E se segue i miei passi,
ingenua gli dico: o via, cattivo,
e accanto a lui seduta sull'erba
comincio a cantare;
lalalalalala?
Se voi solo mi vedeste,
dovreste ben ammettere
che sarebbe un gran peccato
con questo talento, con questo talento
non stare in teatro!
Se faccio la regina
incedo maestosa,
un cenno qui, un cenno là,
sì, in tutta la mia gloria!
Tutti mi fanno alla rispettosi
e attenti ascoltano il mio canto;
sorridendo reggo il mio popolo e l'impero,
